I painted this while I was an artist-in-residence at Whiterock Conservancy in Coon Rapids, Iowa. At this residency, I developed an interest to paint dark night scenes. This serene night time scene captivates with its use of deep blues and shadows, skillfully creating a painting that depicts a view looking up through the trees at the expanse of the sky, with the radiant moon shining through the branches.
